Occasionally, upon the initial assessment cases are identified which require long-term or specialized treatment beyond the scope of that available with the EFAP.  In these cases referrals are made to appropriate community based resources.  Referrals are made in cases where the client is suffering from:  a chronic or severe alcohol, drug or gambling addiction which requires an in-patient treatment program; a chronic and/or severe psychiatric disorder; or a medical disorder.

Clients referred outside of Forbes Psychological Services are provided with support until they are linked with the appropriate community services.  Even after the client is linked, Forbes Psychological Services will continue to follow-up in order to ensure that the client receives the appropriate service offered by the community resources. The staff at Forbes Psychological Services is well versed in the resources available in the community.
